Montgomery College’s Dual Enrollment Program is looking to add a full-time Early College Program Coordinator to our team.  If you enjoy guiding and working with highly motivated high school aged college students, this is the job for you!  The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and may include some evenings and weekends. The position is based out of the Rockville Campus/Germantown Campus but may require local travel to other MC campuses and High school sites. Under supervision of the director of academic initiatives, the Early College Coordinator will provide guidance, advising and support to dually enrolled Early College students who are seeking to simultaneously earn a college degree and high school diploma. Coordinator will be the primary contact and case manager for cohorts of students and will develop and implement retention and success-based programs and initiatives towards degree completion.   

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and track 2-year academic advising plan for students which ensures the completion of both
  • students. high school and college credits towards graduation.
  • Lead, execute and verify course registration to ensure that students are properly enrolled in appropriate courses based on approved advising plan. 
  • Maintain program information and data while verifying that student’s college academic records are accurate and complete.
  • Provide academic and career advising in conjunction with corresponding academic department.
  • Provide holistic guidance and support to assist student’s social and emotional adjustment to a collegiate environment.
  • Serve as a primary referral to campus resources including academic support services, experiential learning opportunities and student life. 
  • Lead the development and implementation of program initiatives such as the new student orientation, summer transition program and bi-weekly student seminars.
  • Maintain regular communication with MC faculty to monitor student progress, and lead or assist with intervention plans as appropriate.
  • Serve as primary liaison to parents and HS counselors.
  • Assist in the coordination of visits by 4-year Colleges
  • Advise students on opportunities for participation in college academic achievement societies, scholarships and awards.
  • Assist with the recruitment and onboarding process to identify and admit qualified students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, education or related field.
  • Three years’ experience related to academic advising and counseling of students in a college environment, preferably in a community college setting.
  • Two years’ experience working with students on a secondary education level.
  • Experience managing student caseloads, records and files.
  • Experience in leading or implementing small and large programming.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated leadership and motivational abilities.
  • Proficiency in office and computer applications.
  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:  ?

  • Knowledge of career decision making and the college admissions, financial aid and scholarship process.
  • Knowledge of FERPA.

Salary Range: $61,529 to $79,977 (annually). Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity.
