Position Qualification
Position Summary | The Department of Environmental, Agricultural & Occupational Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center invites applications for a postdoctoral research faculty appointment. We are seeking an outstanding candidate with interest in the following research areas related to environmental health: (1) Analyzing Environmental Data for Health Outcomes; (2) Epidemiological Analysis of Environmental and Health Data; and (3) Research Applications for Interventions. We have a strong interest in candidates with expertise in applied climatology, data management and analysis, environmental health, and epidemiology. The candidate is expected to: • Assist in, and lead, manuscript preparation from studies dealing with environmental health data for understanding the impacts of environmental change and climate change on human health; • Contribute to grant proposal development, with a goal of completing a federal grant application as a principal investigator during the appointment; • Present research results at national conferences and meetings; • Help coordinate local and regional efforts on climate and health; • Assist in training graduate students at M.S., MPH, and Ph.D. levels. |

Required Qualifications | • Ph.D. in applied climatology, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health,geography, meteorology, economics, geospatial analytics, environmental science, or aclosely related field (awarded no more than 4 years prior to the start of the appointment); • Publications in relevant peer-reviewed scholarly journals; • Ability to develop and deliver research results dealing with climate data and healthdata; • Ability to use statistical software packages for advanced multivariate and geospatialstatistics; • The ability to work independently and collaboratively on research; • Strong written and verbal communication skills; and • Ability to manage large dataset |
Supplemental Qualifications | • Demonstrated potential for obtaining extramural funding; • History of leading refereed publications |
