Position Summary
The Motea Lab in the Department of Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center at Indiana University School of Medicine is currently searching for a highly motivated, hardworking, and ambitious postdoctoral researcher who want to contribute to cutting-edge biomedical research with the ultimate goal of developing novel SMART anti-cancer agents and innovative strategies for personalized cancer treatment in the clinic. The successful candidate will be part of a vibrant and ambitious research group focusing on the mechanism of carcinogenesis and drug resistance induced by genotoxic agents, aberrant DNA replication, DNA damage response/repair and R-loop-mediated genomic instability. The successful candidate will characterize the mechanism of action of novel small molecules as anti-cancer agents, as well as DNA and RNA processing factors and pathways using cutting-edge technologies in structural biology, chemical biology, proteomics, enzymology, molecular biology, biophysical and biochemical techniques.

Basic Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, or cancer pharmacology. Previous experience in the field of genomic stress, transcription, DNA repair and/or replication mechanisms with strong training and publication track record are an advantage for this position

Additional Qualifications
· Experience with pharmacology, enzymology, xenograft tumor mouse models, mouse colony handling/maintenance, cell culture, and basic molecular biology methods
· Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
· Motivated, self-driven, team player, and able to work independently with limited direct supervision
· Able to multitask and show interest in contributing to several projects ongoing in the lab
· Interested in collaborating with other members of the laboratory
