| Position Summary | The Motea Lab in the Department of Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center at Indiana University School of Medicine is currently searching for a highly motivated, hardworking, and ambitious postdoctoral researcher who want to contribute to cutting-edge biomedical research with the ultimate goal of developing novel SMART anti-cancer agents and innovative strategies for personalized cancer treatment in the clinic. The successful candidate will be part of a vibrant and ambitious research group focusing on the mechanism of carcinogenesis and drug resistance induced by genotoxic agents, aberrant DNA replication, DNA damage response/repair and R-loop-mediated genomic instability. The successful candidate will characterize the mechanism of action of novel small molecules as anti-cancer agents, as well as DNA and RNA processing factors and pathways using cutting-edge technologies in structural biology, chemical biology, proteomics, enzymology, molecular biology, biophysical and biochemical techniques. | Basic Qualifications | Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, or cancer pharmacology. Previous experience in the field of genomic stress, transcription, DNA repair and/or replication mechanisms with strong training and publication track record are an advantage for this position |

| Additional Qualifications | · Experience with pharmacology, enzymology, xenograft tumor mouse models, mouse colony handling/maintenance, cell culture, and basic molecular biology methods · Excellent written and oral communication skills in English · Motivated, self-driven, team player, and able to work independently with limited direct supervision · Able to multitask and show interest in contributing to several projects ongoing in the lab · Interested in collaborating with other members of the laboratory |
