Job Description

Job Description

Position Summary

Our NIH-funded laboratory is seeking an energetic, highly motivated postdoctoral fellow for full-time work. The Rosen lab studies Klebsiella pneumoniae pathogenesis, virulence, and immune response. This increasingly resistant pathogen frequently causes pneumonia, sepsis and urinary tract infection in hospitalized patients in the United States and is the leading cause of childhood death in Africa and Asia. Using a variety of mouse models, we are dissecting mechanisms of infection, including regulatory control of numerous virulence factors, in different host niches. We are also interested in the host immune response to Klebsiella pneumoniae. Specifically, we are identifying important antigenic proteins presented by the bacterium and the milieu of host cells responsible for responding to this organism, both in acute and adaptive models of infection.

We utilize numerous technical modalities including flow cytometry, cloning, protein and DNA-based molecular biology, biochemistry, cell/tissue culture, fluorescence and confocal microscopy, RNA-Seq and ChIP-Seq. Additionally, we employ numerous murine models of Klebsiella infection. For additional details, visit: research.peds.wustl.edu/labs/rosen_d .
