A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Ruya Liu in the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Our research focuses on cardiovascular function. Projects include: (1) elucidating the molecular mechanisms responsible for cardiomyocyte proliferation and maturation; (2) explore molecular targets in pulmonary hypertension. Multidisciplinary approaches include molecular and cellular biology, physiological evaluation, quantitative histology, as well as bulk or single-cell omics.

PhD or MD in Molecular/Cell Biology, and/or a related field. Experience in rodent surgical procedures and molecular biology techniques is required. Additional desirable experience includes flow cytometry, confocal/two-photon microscopy, primary cell culture, immunohistochemistry, and/or behavioral testing. Candidates should be highly motivated and with ability to work in a dynamic team environment. They should have good organizational, oral, and written communications skills.
