Job Summary:

The Department of Cell and Regenerative Biology (CRB) and the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH), in collaboration with the Center for Quantitative Cell Imaging (CQCI) in the office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education (VCRGE), is recruiting a full-time, tenured Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to be currently running an extramurally funded, independent research program focusing on developmental organogenesis utilizing cutting-edge approaches, including advanced imaging. This opportunity will allow the scientist to sustain and expand a basic science research program aimed at understanding how cell interactions and movements shape the developing body plan and contribute to health and disease. Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to (1) direct and run an internationally-recognized research program studying developmental organogenesis, (2) maintain strong extramural funding, (3) mentor students, and/or postdoctoral fellows, (4) participate in departmental and institutional teaching, (5) participate in faculty governance activities in the tenure home department, the school and/or University, and (6) participate in professional and/or university service. The candidate will also be expected to participate and collaborate with other faculty in CQCI and CRB. The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the scholarly missions of the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members. The successful candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

Education:

Required
PhD in Genetics/Genomics, Cellular, Molecular and Developmental Biology, or related field 


Qualifications:

At least 10 years post-graduate experience is required. Candidates with high-impact discoveries, success in attracting extramural funding and a history of important research publications is required. Areas of focus must include live imaging approaches, cell morphogenesis and organogenesis.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
