Teach material from approved curriculum and develop daily lesson plans including instructional aids. Participate in school retention initiatives by providing regular, accurate, and timely feedback to students and the school concerning academics, behavior, attendance, etc. Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process. Complete professional development and in-service activities in accordance with college standards. Maintain expertise in subject area and recommend improvements in curriculum design. Provide instructional support to the chair, dean, and students.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree in welding
Minimum of three years of work experience in welding
Knowledge of all standard welding processes used in local industry
Computer literate
Communication skills with public speaking and organizational skills

Essential Functions
Develop and teach courses offered in the Welding Technology Program in both the college and high school dual program
Demonstrate the safe and effective use of all lab equipment
Prepare and communicate clear education objectives while presenting current and accurate course content to the students
Work with representatives of local industry to further the program and enhance the instructional resources
Attend advisory committee meetings
Participate in recruiting, advising, and counseling activities
Work may require a split day and evening work schedule
Fulfill faculty roles and responsibilities as outlined in Midland College Faculty Handbook
Other duties as assigned
