Job Summary
The Assistant Director, Philanthropy works with the individual giving department to support donor and prospect management activity for research, identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Delivers professional services including program development, project management, performing and monitoring financial operations, report development, business analyses, and information management. Oversees the administration and coordination of a variety of projects including planning, organizing, research and delivery of programs and services.
 
Pay Range
Minimum $25.43 Midpoint $38.14 Maximum $50.85
 
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
 
Experience
  • Required: Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in program development, financial accounting functions, office operations, and data management.
  • Preferred: Five (5) years of experience performing program development, pipeline development and management, and office operations. Experience working in a nonprofit or not for profit environment.
Education
  • Required: Associate’s degree in business and additional two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business.
Training
  • Required: Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of project management, solicitation of prospects and cultivation of relationships that increase productivity. Proven ability to understand, analyze and interpret written material, financial data, budgets and strategic planning documents to effectively communicate results. Proven track record in managing multiple processes and demands while adjusting to changing priorities.
Specialized Skills
  • Required: Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills. Expert level understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word as well as experience using Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe InDesign. Must possess the ability to work independently and multi-task. Good judgment and discernment are emphasized. Must possess strong communication and collaborative skills, including the ability to effectively present information, provide sophisticated analysis and respond to questions while proactively presenting solutions to co-workers. Must be detail-oriented and possess a proficiency in use of database systems. Ability to work in high-volume, deadline-driven environment with speed, efficiency and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Must possess the ability to create, read and understand complex data and reports. Sound ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and assess results in accordance with the highest standards; care with sensitivity and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and initiatives; promote teamwork to achieve CHOC Children’s mission; understand and exceed expectations.
