Position Summary:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) with outstanding leadership skills and a proven history of non-profit management expertise and experience leading high-impact youth development programs. Prioritizing the greatest needs of Club members, the COO sets the vision for Club operations and programs, with primary oversight of program development and implementation, program quality, and program budget management. The COO serves as the liaison to local governments, school boards, and key community leaders and organizations, and leads organizational growth initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the COO directly supervises the Directors of Club Operations.

Responsibilities
Position Description & Key Roles:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team in setting organizational vision, operations strategy, and hiring levels that drive equity and facilitate the development of a broad and diverse array of members.
  • Lead the operations of all Club locations and youth development staff in alignment with the mission and core values of BGCGRR.
  • Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
  • Oversee organization-wide operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that maximizes staff potential, meets organizational goals, and balances aspirations with financial capacity.
  • Collaborate with HR in effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention of staff at all levels.
  • Pursue high-potential programs and partnerships that yield impactful program opportunities for Club members.
  • Manage financial resources, review financial reports and statements, and support annual audits
  • Plan and manage programs as specified in contracts and grants
  • Lead and participate in state-wide Boys & Girls Club initiatives and projects and attend appropriate Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) events to further enhance BGCA/BGCCVA relationship.
  • Serve as primary liaison to operations-related board committees.
  • Create opportunities, systems, and expectations that promote an organizational culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Engage in resource development efforts and strategic resource development planning in partnership with the Executive Leadership Team
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to lead a high-capability operations team to maximize their full potential and drive the best possible outcomes for youth.
  • Five or more years of leadership in non-profit agency operations management and supervision, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Five or more years of experience in multi-unit management
  • Five or more years in leading and building strong teams
  • Five or more years of experience in non-profit contract and grant execution
  • Advanced understanding of the programmatic and financial principles and practices of non-profit youth-serving organizations
  • Ability to strategically align performance metrics, data, and outcomes.
  • Extensive experience with program and capital budget management
  • Ability to assess and foresee challenges and identify effective solutions quickly.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish, build, and maintain effective working relationships with and among Club Leaders, Club staff at all levels, Board members, community groups, and other related agencies.
  • Ability to travel, when needed, primarily locally during the business day, with some out-of-the-area and overnight travel.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of America Program Trainer Certification preferred.
  • Youth Program Quality Assessment Certification preferred.
  • Youth Worker Methods Trainer Certification preferred.
  • Youth Development training, certification, education, or equivalent practical experience required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
