Saybrook University, a non-profit accredited graduate school using a hybrid distance/residential learning model, seeks to hire part-time Adjunct Faculty in our Business Administration degree program. Our faculty are scholar-practitioners and leaders in their fields, entrepreneurships, and professional associations. Faculty are effective educators, well published scholars, and social activists for change. It combines best practices in hybrid online and residential education. Saybrook students are mature and proficient in the use of advances in technology applied in higher education. We prepare scholar-practitioners to engage the world in the 21st century.
 
  • Position starts April 17, 2023, or until filled.
 
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsive and timely communication with Program Chair and university communications
  • Course Delivery/Development and Syllabus Review/Updating
    • Deliver high quality innovative on-line courses that foster critical and creative thinking
    • Ensure high academic standards and quality aligned with program goals
    • Coordination with department leadership regarding course offerings and catalog documentation
    • Potential to design innovative, progressive, and responsive courses
  • Attend one university-wide adjunct faculty meeting per academic year
    • Attend DBA degree meeting where necessary
  • Residential Conference Opportunities
    • Potential for presenting workshops, course introduction, and departmental meetings
  • Faculty Senate
    • Consider serving on the Faculty Senate in representing university adjunct faculty
Position Requirements:
  • Earned doctorate in field’s terminal degree from regionally, accredited institution
  • Demonstrated scholarship and/or accomplishments in the field
  • Previous experience in faculty leadership roles, particularly regarding curriculum development and working across departments
  • Demonstrated scholarship, and/or accomplishments in the fields of organizational development, sustainability and purpose enhancing profit generating business opportunities.
  • Relevant supervision and teaching experience at the doctoral level (with preference for those with online teaching experience), including supervision of dissertation research
  • Commitment to multicultural and humanistic principles
  • Experience teaching and developing core business degree courses (e.g., working within private and public sectors to contribute to the organizational strategies that drives return on investment in the following outcome categories: people, planet, profit, and purpose).

Compensation & Benefits
Three credit courses are budgeted at $2,000-4,000 per course, dependent upon student enrollment. Two credit courses are budgeted at $1,334-2,668 per course, dependent upon student enrollment. Under-enrolled courses may fall below these ranges. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
