Position Qualification
Position Summary | A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Nebraska Medical Center, to conduct electron FLASH research. The candidate will be under the supervision of Sumin Zhou, Ph.D., and will work with medical physicists and biologists in the department to carry out research projects. The research focus will be a) to evaluate and characterize an electron FLASH system using dosimetry measurement tools (e.g., GAFchromic film) and the Monte Carlo simulation method; b) to participate in cell and animal irradiation experiments to investigate the FLASH biological effect. |

Required Qualifications | Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, and other related fields. Strong computational skills in machine learning and Monte Carlo simulation. Commission expertise with Varian Eclipse Treatment Planning System. |
Supplemental Qualifications | Skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and image and statistical analysis are essential. |
