Job Summary:
The Thielges lab at Indiana University is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Scholar with interest in applying time-resolved spectroscopy for uncovering the conformational dynamics of protein function. The available project(s) are focused on developing residue-specific 1D and 2D IR spectroscopy of proteins directed toward measuring their conformational states and dynamics and addressing the functional roles in enzyme catalysis or electron transfer. The work will involve implementing ultrafast spectroscopic experiments, analyzing data, and communicating the project findings via presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
The successful applicant will join a highly interdisciplinary research environment with opportunities to collaborate within and outside the group. Basic Qualifications
Ph.D. in a field related to physical chemistry or biophysics.
An enthusiasm for spectroscopy, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications are experience in ultrafast spectroscopy, protein engineering, or methods of biophysical characterization. Experience with Matlab, LabView, or other scientific software is desirable.

Additional Qualifications
Salary and Rank $45,000 - $53,000/ yr, Postdoctoral Fellow
Special Instructions
The initial appointment for this position will be for 12 months. Additional 12-month extension will be available based on performance. A competitive salary along with a benefits package will be offered.
