Job Description


The Princeton Neuroscience Institute (PNI) is a premiere research institute within Princeton University’s campus, dedicated to solving problems at the forefront of neuroscience. Faculty members, research staff, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students work together in a collaborative and creative environment, reflecting Princeton’s reputation for excellence.

PNI has recently been awarded funding for a large multi-institutional collaborative neuroscience research project that requites a full time Project Manager. The Project Manager will be responsible for (i) organizing virtual meetings of the Steering Committee, and the entire Center community, the bi-annual in-person Center meeting, and annual meetings with the External Advisory Board including travel, hotel arrangements, meals, reimbursements, and local meeting logistics (e.g. booking appropriate rooms); (ii) communicating with administrative support personnel at the other institutions; (iii) coordinating and compiling annual progress reports from all contributing institutions; (iv) administration of the training program; (v) development and maintenance of the NIH Center website; (vi) arranging and coordinating visits from Center collaborators to facilitate exchange of newly developed techniques including travel, accommodation and visa assistance, if necessary (vii) maintaining publication records and assure compliance with the NIH Public Access Policy for Center grant investigators.. The Center Project Manager will also assist and work closely with the Fiscal Research Administrator.



  • Organizing virtual meetings of the Steering Committee, and the entire Center community, the bi-annual in-person Center meeting, and annual meetings with the External Advisory Board including travel, hotel arrangements, meals, reimbursements, and local meeting logistics (e.g. booking appropriate rooms).
  • Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of a web site for the project. The goal of this web site will be to advertise the project, advertise open jobs in the project, and advertise and list research publications resulting from the project
  • Overseeing the project’s budget and expenditures. In coordination with our local grants management staff, preparing progress reports to the funding agency, drafting project reports
  • Administration of the training program.
  • Maintaining publication records and assure compliance with the NIH Public Access Policy for Center grant investigators.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and familiarity with grants
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently, to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and to exercise discretion in obtaining and providing factual and confidential information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong computer skills, esp. Excel and working knowledge of office processes, systems and related computer software are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Princeton University’s financial and purchasing systems, Concur, and Canvas is preferred.
