A National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded postdoctoral position is available in the Radiology and Imaging Sciences Department at Emory University. The main effort in this role will be towards developing structure-function relationships in musculoskeletal tissues using NMR and MRI modalities. This work will involve animal and human studies and require work with an interdisciplinary team of collaborators. Other effort will be towards developing and applying methods for robust high field (3 and 7 Tesla) MRI along with working towards the candidate’s long term career goals.

 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or D.Sc. in physics, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field. The successful candidates should exhibit strong quantitative skills, be highly motivated and will be expected to exhibit a strong work ethic. Both excellent written and oral communication skills are required in addition to the ability to work independently and in a collaborative manner with a diverse group of scientists and clinicians. Knowledge of MR physics and previous experience with pulse sequence programming is highly desired.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field. Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills. The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues. Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.
