Coordinator, Grants & Contracts - Research Administration

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for administrative/financial management/oversight of their research portfolio. Works with investigators and/or project teams to submit for new, continuing, and competing applications. Performs budget forecasting; review fund statements; resolve accounting problems/errors; and function as liaison to federal and non-federal grantor agencies and subcontracting institutions. Maintains timely coordination and communication with involved parties regarding grants management issues. Ensures that grant submission, implementation, and reporting comply with all policies of the Hospital, granting institutions and subcontracting agencies. Functions as resource person in clarification of policies. Maintains ongoing forecast of funds available throughout grant period. Provides guidance regarding the allowability of costs to be charged to fund to avoid future cost disallowances. Reviews appropriateness of transactions and budget reallocations against funding source guidelines. Works with accounting and finance to resolve complex accounting issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree

3 years of experience

Knowledge of grant and contract management and accounting principles and regulations

Experience with federal, state and local Requests for Proposals, including the ability to understand complex and/or detailed proposal requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures

Experience with the legislative grant process, including interpretation of regulations, documentation and interfacing with state and federal officials

Strong organizational skills and the ability to establish priorities, manage multiple demands and projects and meet deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree

4 years of experience

Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of medical, clinical and other staff, as well as with community partners

Knowledge of government and foundation grants, responding to grant applications, grant writing with a track record of securing successful grant wards, and grant management

History of positive relationship with funders/funding representatives

The expected hiring range for this position is $29.49 to $40.55.
