The Department of Respiratory Therapy in the Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions at Georgia State University in Atlanta invites applications for a 12-month Post-Doctoral Fellowship position, with the possibility of reappointment for two additional years depending on funding. The prospective postdoctoral fellow will work with faculty and students conducting research in respiratory therapy, including but not limited to aerosol medication delivery, pulmonary rehabilitation and lung disease. During the fellowship, the fellow will work with faculty on ongoing research focused on a range of issues including, tobacco control, tobacco addiction, smoking cessation, respiratory disease and health behavior. The fellow will also have time for their own complementary research, and we will facilitate access to data sources in support of their research. The fellow will be supervised by Dr. Doug Gardenhire

The Department of Respiratory Therapy is a large, well-established program offering a baccalaureate, master and PhD degree in respiratory therapy. The department is located in a large urban university and affiliated with major medical centers throughout the metro Atlanta area and United States.

Preferred Requirements:

• Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) holding a doctoral degree.
