About the Opportunity

Job Summary:

Associate Professor Sze Zheng Yong is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate to perform research in the areas of planning, control, and estimation of multi-agent systems with interaction forces and inter-agent constraints, e.g., due to physical tethers or communication constraints. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for developing novel algorithms with provable guarantees, preparing sponsor reports and research manuscripts for publication in leading journals and conferences, and assisting with mentoring graduate students in the research group.

Qualifications:

Education: Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

Must have a background in one or more fields of motion planning, control theory, and optimization. Familiarity with hybrid systems and differential equations is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in English communication and excellent technical writing skills required.

Self-motivated and able to prioritize and multitask.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Programming in MATLAB, Python, or other programming languages for robotic simulations.

Experience in hardware implementation and demonstration.
