To further our mission, we are seeking a leader who is committed to the goals of the YMCA to join our team as our Chief Experience Officer.

Job Description

The Chief Experience Officer will manage daily operations and membership experience of the YMCA including long term strategies for the YMCA’s success. CXO is responsible for talent development of direct reports, development and monitoring of department budgets, development and monitoring of quality assurance measures, facility management . CXO serves on the Executive Team. The CXO will have direct supervision of the Healthy Living Director, Camp and Family Program Director, Membership Director, and Facility Services Director. The CXO will assist with data collection of program outcomes. CXO must exhibit strong team building skills with internal and external constituents and partners. CXO must demonstrate the YMCA character traits of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility while being able to develop relationships with community members/partners, staff members and other organizations.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, business, human services, health science or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in leading and developing staff with proven ability to inspire, lead, and motivate staff.
  • 3 to 5 years in YMCA program management or other related experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in budget development and management.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Understanding of YMCA mission, programs, character values and YMCA culture.
  • Ability to inspire others, multi-task, be innovative, prioritize responsibilities, and stay organized.
  • Must complete First Aid, CPR, Child Abuse Prevention and YMCA related trainings with in the first 30 days.
Essential Functions
  • Develop processes, procedures and best practices that promote excellent membership and program participant experiences.
  • Implement staff and volunteer training to ensure service is consistent with the YMCA mission, character development values, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts that are critical to the success of the YMCA.
  • Supervise and mentor the Healthy Living Director, Membership Director, Camp and Family Programs Director, and Facility Services Director.
  • Create an inclusive and welcoming member-focused culture, modeling relationship-building skills in all interactions. Fosters a climate of innovation and creative problem solving.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of membership strategies to attract new members and program participants, as well as grow membership base and improve membership retention.
  • Responsible for facility management and maintenance to ensure high quality facilities that are critical to membership experience. Ensures YMCA facilities are clean, safe, functional, and conducive to providing positive member experiences.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new healthy living / fitness programs to attract and retain new members.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new camp and family programs to enhance and expand participant experience.
  • Collaborate in the development of standard operating procedures and best practices for each department.
  • Recommends changes to program offerings by discontinuing or altering existing programs, and establishing new programs based on cost analysis, survey data and other information for operational efficiencies.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and meet or exceed the goals.
  • Collaborates with the YMCA Finance Director in to develop and implement ongoing cost analysis for membership, programs, and facilities.
  • Collaborate with Finance /HR Director in the development and implementation of staff and volunteer training and retention programs to strengthen the YMCA staff and volunteer team.
  • Serve as a member of the YMCA Executive team with the Executive Director, Finance Director, Development Director and Marketing and Community Development Director.
  • Work with the Executive Team, Staff Team, and Executive Director on developing new revenue-generating, mission-centered, community programs to expand the footprint of the YMCA, enhance service to the community, and increase the financial health of the YMCA.
  • Assist Executive Team in maintaining select relationships with community partners.
  • Participate and support fundraising activities and events for the Rome Floyd County YMCA.
  • Represent the YMCA and maintain relationships with area organizations, community leaders, and local businesses.
  • Make key decisions in emergency situations, as needed.
  • Other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization’s values.
