Job Description

A Postdoctoral Researcher position is available in NREL’s Catalytic Carbon Transformation and Scale-up Center in the area of heterogeneous catalysis for conversion of renewable (e.g., biomass) and waste (e.g., CO2) carbon sources to enable efficient, low-carbon pathways for creating fuels, materials, and chemicals. The candidate will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the catalyst development cycle, including catalyst synthesis and scale-up, detailed structural and chemical characterization, catalytic evaluation, and the subsequent interpretation of the catalytic performance to quantify and elucidate the impact of identified structure performance relationships. The successful candidate will be expected to arrive with substantial experience in several physical (material) characterization techniques, reactor operation, laboratory safety, and communication of the significance of new data.
