Salary Range: $4,000 per course

Essential Functions

The Department of Public Administration at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is considering applications for part-time adjunct lecturers to teach in its Master of Public Administration (MPA) and the Bachelor of Public Administration and Policy (BPAP) degree programs for Summer and Fall of 2023. Adjuncts are paid per course taught. Undergraduate courses are mostly taught during the day. Master's level courses are taught in the evenings.

Our two particular needs for Summer 2023 are for instructors to teach Grant Development and Proposal Writing, and Urban and Regional Economic Development, both at the graduate level. Successful candidates must have either a terminal degree in Public Administration (or related field) or extensive, applied experience in these topics.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications to Teach at the Master's Level:

The qualifications to be considered as an adjunct lecturer in the MPA program are a doctorate degree in public administration (or related field of study), or a master's degree in public administration with a strong record of professional work experience relevant to the course's specific subject matter.

Qualifications to Teach at the Undergraduate Level:

The qualifications to be considered as an adjunct lecturer in the BPAP program are a master's degree in public administration, or closely related field of study.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Level: Teaching experience is desirable.

Undergraduate Level: Teaching and/or work experience relevant to the course's specific subject matter is desirable.

Working Conditions

On Campus: Primary work location will be on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
