Job Summary:

Teach courses in Health Occupations I and Health Occupations II, consistent with current developments in the discipline and teaching methods. Participate in department and ERESA team meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Participate in course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, College initiatives, and curriculum and course development to meet state occupational standards as well as LCC and ERESA course requirements. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.

***This position will teach high school students participating in the Eaton Regional Education Services Agency’s (ERESA) Health Occupations I and Health Occupations II program. ERESA faculty will teach morning and afternoon session Monday-Friday during the Fall and Spring semesters, and continuing yearly as enrollment permits. The position follows the ERESA academic calendar. Must work effectively with other faculty and staff in a rapidly changing team environment. In addition to teaching responsibilities, this position will schedule and monitor student field placements in community programs. Faculty must remain current in applicable subject areas and teaching methodologies. Course content includes, but is not limited to:


  • Introduction to health professions
  • Medical terminology
  • Long-term care nurse aide
  • Patient care technician

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.

Current unencumbered State of Michigan Nursing (RN) License.

Current State of Michigan Nurse Aide Trainer Permit (or be eligible for within 30 days of employment).

Minimum two years of clinical experience.

Significant Nursing or Nurse Aid related teaching experience in a clinical and classroom setting.

Demonstrated knowledge of classroom and student assessment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, including online strategies.


Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience with high school students.
