Reporting to the Associate Director for Asylum Services, the Program Officer for Asylum Services will provide training, technical assistance, and program monitoring & evaluation to a network of sites that work with asylum seekers and strengthen their ability to safely navigate their communities and clear path towards integration.

DUTIES

  • Provide national oversight and strategic direction to program sites, building an infrastructure to implement a successful Welcome Center programming across the nation.
  • Contribute to the successful achievement of funder contractual requirements and programmatic outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring protocols and materials to ensure program compliance.
  • Coordinate and conduct the monitoring and evaluation of Welcome Center program activities at affiliate and LIRS sites.
  • Design and deliver training and technical assistance around client-centered, trauma-informed case management service delivery to asylum seekers and other program participants.
  • Collect data, write reports, and provide support during proposal applications.
  • Use data to inform programmatic decisions and improve outcomes for clients.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the Welcome Center space on LIRSConnect, extendedReach, and other LIRS systems.
  • Represent LIRS during meetings and convenings with external stakeholders, as needed.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with the LIRS network staff and directors.
  • Contribute bold creativity and innovation to the unit.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in social work, social sciences, or related field; preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in non-profit immigration or social services programs.
  • Demonstrated experience providing case management services domestically or relief services overseas is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or limited English speakers, required.
  • Experience in interpreting contract compliance, developing and delivering training, and providing technical assistance to service providers and staff.
  • Ability to collect, analyze and interpret program information needed to ensure compliance with program requirements, monitor program outcomes and complete requisite statistical and narrative reporting.
  • Broad knowledge of practices, principles, and methods employed in the assistance of refugees, asylees, and asylum seekers including a working knowledge and understanding of U.S. Immigration laws and regulations.
  • Experience developing performance measurement plan, data collection, and analysis highly preferred.
  • Experience in program monitoring and evaluation and Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to write and edit reports and clearly interpret technical requirements.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, knowledge in database management, and other computer applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and change direction quickly.
  • Deep commitment to LIRS' core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • Experience with and commitment to working in a very diverse workforce.
