Posting Summary
This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Admissions for Rutgers Law School at the Camden Campus.
The Admissions Officer assists with all aspects of the admissions process. In addition to reviewing applications, this position also requires representing the law school at recruitment fairs, forums and panels; counseling students regarding the admissions process; and developing and implementing strategies for recruiting and yielding diverse prospective students. Other responsibilities include: assisting in the planning and implementation of Orientation, open houses, webinars, information sessions, and other recruitment activities; developing working relationships with undergraduate and graduate institutions, pre-law advisors, pre-law societies, and other external constituents; and performing other duties and special projects as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Admissions. This position requires occasional evening and weekend event responsibilities and seasonal recruiting travel.
The Admissions Officer will also serve as a liaison between prospective students and other external constituents on issues related to diversity and inclusion in legal education and the profession as a whole. Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Admissions, the Assistant Director will engage with current students and Law School administrators to help develop and implement policies, pipeline and outreach programs, and curricular requirements that foster an environment of diversity and inclusion at Rutgers Law School.
The Admissions Officer maintains and ensures the accuracy of the law school admissions database and its connection with the University graduate school database, working with Camden Campus IT to see that admissions databases are operating properly, and ensuring proper generation of reports for ABA reporting and other purposes.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and complete projects in a timely fashion. Knows the mission, goals, and objectives of the University and Rutgers Law School in order to communicate accurate and relevant information to prospects, applicants and admitted students.
This position will involve evening and weekend work and travel.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience and two years’ experience working in university administration with a high volume of student contact may be substituted. Must be experienced working with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience working with ACES2, Unite, and/or RUTADMIN a plus. Must have a driver’s license and ability to travel for extensive periods during fall recruiting season.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience working in a confidential environment that requires discretion and good judgment. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work and complete projects in a fast-paced environment with multiple distractions. Ability to make presentations before large groups. Excellent writing skills for communication by email and other written means is a must.

Masters or other advanced degree a plus

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same.
