Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Plan, implement, and manage all operational and administrative activities related to the A James Clark School of Engineering’s DataDrivER project funded through a collaborative agreement with the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) to design, develop, evolve, and demonstrate a research environment that leverages the productivity, efficiency, and currency of university research to enhance the productivity, efficiency, and relevance of Army research.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Management of business operations including financial accounting, procurement, and travel.
  • Work with appropriate payroll offices to recruit and on-board personnel
  • Pre and Post Award Administration
  • Coordination of meetings, conferences and events
  • Coordinate/compile technical reports
  • Serve as administrative POC for the project

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience required (please see below).

Experience:
Three years of administrative experience, preferably in a University setting.

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
  • The ability to work independently and be able to exercise good judgement.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with administrators, faculty, and staff as well as collaborators from outside the University.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team environment. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in research administration and knowledge of uniform guidance.
