Principally responsible for proctoring exams and operating an efficient office. As a proctor, the individual must be aware of and maintain test security and follow testing procedures. Provides administrative support.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year of clerical experience
Computer literacy to include experience working with spreadsheets and word processing
Knowledge of general office equipment to include copier, fax machine, and multi-line telephone
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong organizational skills
Critical thinking skills

Essential Functions
Be familiar with all of the exams administered through the Testing Center
Assist testing coordinator with the scheduling, preparation, set up, and proctoring of various tests. Responsible for administering CLEP exams
Assist students with questions concerning Testing Center procedures
Perform general clerical duties to include correspondence, filing, record keeping, and assisting candidates with forms and information. Responsible for updating and maintaining testing records. Help the Testing Center function as a resource center for the community, faculty, staff, and students
Assist candidates in completing and submitting documentation for special accommodation testing
Disseminate scores for candidates and third parties in compliance with privacy laws and with respect to clients’ confidentiality
Because of the stressful nature associated with some of the exams, the testing clerk must be able to maintain composure with all examinees
Work with Testing Center staff to provide office coverage at all times during work hours
Issue purchase orders for invoices received in the office and make purchase order requests for any supplies needed in the Testing Center or Advising Department
Conduct an inventory of Testing Center computers and supplies every semester
Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands
Must be able to lift or move boxes weighing up to 25 pounds
Must be able to work extended hours, including weekends, during registration periods and Midland College community events
Work mostly performed indoors, some outdoor Midland College or community events may be required, and possible weekend attendance
Travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town may be required
