The Department of Forest Biomaterials has responsibilities for teaching, research and extension activities. It awards undergraduate degrees in Paper Science and Engineering, and Sustainable Materials and Technology; and distance Masters, MS, and PhD degrees in Forest Biomaterials.
Essential Job Duties
The Department of Forest Biomaterials at North Carolina State University is seeking candidates who can direct a team of NCSU employees and volunteers to effectively recruit and retain high quality engineering students in the Paper Science and Engineering program. The successful candidate must have experience in the pulp and paper industry, with experience in a manufacturing operation being highly preferred. The successful candidate should have a degree in pulp and paper engineering or technology, or some closely related field.
Essential duties include:
- Develop and implement a successful recruiting program for In-State, Out-of-State, and on-campus prospects,
- Provide ongoing student support programs to achieve student retention objectives,
- Support student personal and professional development training programs within the Department.
Other Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor’s degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience
- The successful candidate should have a degree in pulp and paper engineering or technology, or some closely related field
Other Required Qualifications
- The ability to provide ongoing student support programs to achieve student retention objectives
- Support student personal and professional development training programs within the Department
- The ability to develop and implement a successful recruiting program for In-State, Out-of-State, and on-campus prospects
- Energetic, self-starter, with strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work and operate independently, working on multiple tasks
- Ability to develop web-based recruiting materials for students, including text, photos, short video, and social media
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an operating manufacturing environment
