Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Manager of Financial Compliance is responsible for assisting in the oversight of audits and reviews associated with awards for sponsored research activities. The Manager is responsible for assisting the Senior Manager with coordinating and managing internal and external audits in a timely and proficient manner. Reviewing and organizing audit data to ensure consistency with University and sponsor policies and procedures. Provide guidance to the campus community on compliance issues related to sponsored activities. Assist with development of audit remediation and future action plans. Perform periodic and annual reviews of Federal expenditures and high risk University processes. Research and interpret complex Federal, State and Private rules and regulations. Partner with subject matter team of experts to develop and deliver sponsored program training. Oversight of single audit subrecipient monitoring. Provide supervision to the Financial Compliance Coordinator. Overall, the Manager will assist the Senior Manager with financial oversight of the University’s compliance with sponsored research rules, regulations, policies and procedures and provide outreach to the campus community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited College or University.

Experience:
• 7-10 years progressively responsible leadership in a complex and decentralized higher education setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to develop and foster professional relationships with University internal and external customers.
• Proven direct responsibility and expertise with sponsored program administration in a diverse research environment.
• Demonstrated supervisory skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft office and Adobe.
• Ability to evaluate and organize highly complex data in a timely and accurate manner.
• Working knowledge of 2 CFR 200, and ability to interpret and apply Insitutional, Federal, State and Private rules and regulations.
• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
• Ability to develop and conduct training on sponsored research topics.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
