Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The purpose of the position is to be serve as the Center for Academic Success and Achievement’s (CASA) advising lead, to support the School’s undergraduate programs, students, departmental advisors and other CASA advisors. The Senior Advisor is an experienced member of the CASA advising team that provides input to campus wide strategic partners and is identified as a key point of contact for School advising. This position requires attention to detail as this person serves as the primary advising contact with departments in SPH and advising partners across campus.
Leadership duties also include onboarding and mentoring junior CASA advisors, input in the onboarding of new departmental advisors and evaluating best practices in schoolwide advising.
In addition, the Senior Advisor supports individual students through general advising, supports students that are on academic probation/dismissal or are at-risk SPHL students.
The Senior Advisor will focus on supporting the schoolwide orientation process in collaboration with SPH departments and the Office of Student Orientation and Transition. This position will develop the content, coordinate the logistics and serve as the primary point of contact for new student orientation (winter and summer) for the School.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree, preferably in student affairs, higher education or a related field.
- Four years of related experience within a large research university or similar organization.

- Four to six years of advising experience
- Experience advancing diversity and inclusion efforts,
- Experience with advising and student record databases and systems
- Attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in accordance with FERPA
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Desire to educate and assist students
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Excellent work ethic
- Strong interpersonal skills
Additional Information:
Salary range: $73,000 – $83,000
