Job Description

Eastern Gateway Community College invites applications for several part-time Adjunct Faculty positions in our Veterinary Technology program. These positions are for teaching in-seat courses at our campus in Youngstown, OH and our clinical site in Canfield, OH.

Employment as an Adjunct Faculty member is on a temporary basis. Employment is based on the need of the College from semester to semester.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach course(s) assigned to you by following the material provided by the dean’s office or the director of your program

• Answer student inquiries (from class or via email) within a reasonable timeframe (24-48 hours is standard)

• Grade students’ performance fairly and to the College’s standards & policies

• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress

• Use a variety of instructional strategies to support and motivate students

• Must have a flexible schedule from semester to semester

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Licensure as a Veterinary Technician is required

• Four (4) years' experience working in the clinical setting is required

• Previous teaching experience is preferred

• Experience using instructional technology is required

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Excellent teaching skills and the ability to interact effectively with students both in and out of the classroom

• Ability to communicate well, both verbal and written

• Must possess integrity, enthusiasm, determination, and dependability

• Ability to motivate students in a positive and professional manner
