
Veterinary Technology Adjunct Instructors
Job Description
Eastern Gateway Community College invites applications for several part-time Adjunct Faculty positions in our Veterinary Technology program. These positions are for teaching in-seat courses at our campus in Youngstown, OH and our clinical site in Canfield, OH.
Employment as an Adjunct Faculty member is on a temporary basis. Employment is based on the need of the College from semester to semester.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach course(s) assigned to you by following the material provided by the dean’s office or the director of your program

Answer student inquiries (from class or via email) within a reasonable timeframe (24-48 hours is standard)

Grade students’ performance fairly and to the College’s standards & policies

Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress

Use a variety of instructional strategies to support and motivate students

Must have a flexible schedule from semester to semester
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Licensure as a Veterinary Technician is required
-
Four (4) years' experience working in the clinical setting is required

Previous teaching experience is preferred

Experience using instructional technology is required
SKILLS & ABILITIES

Excellent teaching skills and the ability to interact effectively with students both in and out of the classroom

Ability to communicate well, both verbal and written

Must possess integrity, enthusiasm, determination, and dependability

Ability to motivate students in a positive and professional manner
