Essential Job Duties
We seek a research assistant to split time between two research teams: the Mishra Laboratory (neurobiology; Department of Molecular Biosciences) and the Nolan Laboratory (radiation/cancer biology; Department of Clinical Sciences). These teams study various aspects of both itch and pain, and the groups collaborate regularly.
Both laboratories utilize similar techniques including mammalian cell culture, animal (mouse) handling/behavior/injections, basic histology and microscopy, and molecular biology techniques (WB, ELISA, qRTPCR, genotyping, transfection). The successful candidate will be prepared to perform each of these assays, and will also be able to partake in data preparation/analysis. The candidate will aid in training undergraduate and graduate students, work alongside postdocs, and will help perform experiments with various members of the lab.

Minimum Education and Experience
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree, or relevant Bachelor’s degree plus 3 or more years of independent research experience, or substantative relevant independent experience and education.
Other Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform mammalian cell culture, animal (mouse) handling/behavior/injections, basic histology and microscopy, and molecular biology techniques (WB, ELISA, qRTPCR, genotyping, transfection),
- Ability to perform basic word processing (MS Word)

- Experience with basic statistics (Excel, Graphpad)
