The Schiff Center for Liver Diseases has an exciting opportunity for a Post Doctoral Associate. The Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff.  Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.

  • Contribute to research activities, participate in the publication of significant results, and advance knowledge through education, training and/or research experience.

  • Perform and manage and analyze data collected for prospective/retrospective cases.

  • Prepares research reports and papers for publishing.

  • Reviews and administers informed consent forms to candidates for drug or device studies.

  • Involved with patient recruitment and screening by conducting sampling research design.

  • Obtains and reviews medical records for data required per protocol.

  • Contact and schedules patients for any research related visit.

  • Maintains pool of study candidates and ensures their availability.

  • Coordinates necessary patient evaluations.

  • Publish results in academic journals or books/present them at conferences.

  • Attends attending’s weekly outpatient clinic at UHT to seek and enroll qualified research study participants.

  • Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.

  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.

  • Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                        

  • MD or Ph.D. in relevant field

  • Demonstrate prior experience with management of autoimmune and cholestatic (PBC/PSC/AIH) liver disease preferred.

  • Contribute to research activities, participate in the publication of significant results, and advance knowledge through education, training and/or research experience.

  • Basic knowledge base for inpatient and outpatient clinical care.

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of pathophysiology and disease processes.

  • Demonstrates the ability to access relevant clinical information.

  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
