Postdoctoral Scholar – Pharmaceutical Sciences - 23000000JV 



Description

 

An opening position for a postdoctoral fellow is available in Dr. Chao-Yie Yang’s laboratory at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. The Yang lab integrates computer-aided drug design, medicinal chemistry, and experimental biophysical/biochemical and cell assays to develop chemical tools and drugs for cancer therapy and immune related diseases and disorder. Current active projects include targets in cancers, RNA splicing, and graft-versus-host disease. The candidate is expected to keep records of all scientific experiments and help train students in the lab. He or she will draft manuscripts and patent applications when required. Qualifications

 

Qualifications

PhD in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or a closely related field.

The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong background in multi-step organic/medicinal chemistry synthesis, self-motivated, work independently to solve synthetic problems with less than four years after the PhD degree. Previous experiences in medicinal chemistry, structure-activity relationship studies, 2-D NMR spectroscopy, or small-molecule crystal structures will be a plus.
