Overview

The Walensky laboratory of cancer chemical biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School is seeking an energetic, efficient, and resourceful college graduate interested in gaining experience as a basic science research technician to a principal investigator (PI) who serves as a physician, scientist, and educator.

Responsibilities

Specific research duties will include experimentation in a variety of areas spanning chemistry, biochemistry, and cancer cell biology.  Techniques could include ligand binding analyses, protein production and purification, assays on cells, purified organelles, and cell lysates. The primary area of research focus is deregulated cell death and transcriptional pathways in cancer, with a major interest in overcoming chemoresistance through the development and application of novel chemical tools and prototype therapeutics.

Personal attributes required include high energy and upbeat multi-tasker, supremely organized with exquisite attention to detail, independent thinker and doer, exemplary written and oral communication skills, computer and technology savvy, impeccable people skills a must.

Bachelor degree is required:  Recent college graduate with at least 2 years of basic science laboratory experience in chemistry, biochemistry, or cell biology interested in a 2-year post-BA commitment in a world-class biomedical research environment and who intends to harness the acquired skills/experience to advance their career in medicine, science, or biotechnology.  Superior computer, organizational, leadership, and communication skills
