Summary of Position

The Department of Natural Resources and the Environment seeks a dynamic, engaged scholar and teacher in the field of Community and Environmental Planning. The ideal candidate will have expertise in areas such as community and environmental planning and policy, land use planning, regional planning, sustainable community planning, community development, transportation planning, workforce housing, environmental and social justice, food justice, or green infrastructure. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a portfolio of courses in the Community and Environmental Planning program, to mentor and advise undergraduates, to engage with local and regional stakeholders, and to be active in program, Departmental, College, and University governance and service. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

· Ph.D. in Community and Environmental Planning, or a closely related field. Exceptional candidates that are all-but-dissertation may be considered.
· Experience teaching in higher education.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

· A demonstrated record of excellence in teaching.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse range of students, stakeholders and communities.
· Practical experience and/or engaged scholarship in the areas of community or regional planning and development.
