The Lake Area Technical College (LATC) Director of Financial Aid is responsible for administering and managing all aspects of the college's financial aid programs and ensuring compliance with all related laws and regulations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the capability of initiating and completing multiple projects and demonstrating a high degree of professionalism.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of experience in financial aid, financial management, or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business or a related field.
  • Knowledge of and ability to read, interpret, explain, and apply federal and state rules and regulations, and guidelines.
  • Experience with a financial aid management system.
  • Ability to organize complex tasks and procedures with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a commitment to student success in a team environment. Must enjoy working as part of a team and assisting visitors, students, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual.
  • National Career Readiness Certificate level Gold or higher or FAAC®designation awarded through NASFAA's Certified Financial Aid Administrator® Program

REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services, Vice President

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer financial aid programs with thorough knowledge of guidelines and regulations.
  • Strive to ensure an exception-free audit and program reviews by implementing office procedures and providing audit documents to external auditors.
  • Accurately complete federal and state compliance reports related to financial aid programs.
  • Maintain statistical data on financial aid programs and government assistance programs.
  • Supervise employees in the financial aid department including student employees.
  • Contribute to student success through quality customer service and communication.
  • Coordinate with other departments to maximize the financial support to students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month contract with salary and benefits set by the Watertown School Board.
