Job Summary

Rochester Institute of Technology’s Department of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for a Post Doctoral Researcher in the Laboratory of Prof. Wuertz-Kozak. 


Job Responsibilities

Candidates must have experience in cell and molecular biology. Experience in research related to extracellular vesicles, CRISPR/Cas9, and electrospinning is beneficial, but not required. The expected start date is between 09/2023, but is negotiable.
Applicants should have expertise in musculoskeletal research and/or skin research and must have demonstrated a potential for high quality publications and dissemination of research results at conferences and meetings. Candidates must also have experience in supervision of undergraduate/graduate students and would ideally have experience in lecturing (specifically in the areas of biomaterials, tissue engineering. and biofabrication). A willingness to participate in student supervision and teaching is expected. A rising potential to organize, coordinate and eventually lead collaborative projects with other academic institutions, clinical partners, and potentially industrial partners is highly desirable.
We are seeking an individual who has the ability and interest in taking a key position in a thriving laboratory that is funded by NIH, NSF, and CDMRP (amongst others). Required Qualifications

  • A PhD in cell biology, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering or a closely related field
  • Experience in cell and molecular biology
  • Experience in undergraduate/graduate supervision
  • Experience in lecturing or supporting courses
  • Demonstrated potential for high quality research
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to establish interdisciplinary working relationships
