Postdoctoral Associate in Virology

Job Description


Two postdoctoral associate positions are available at Dr. Xing laboratory, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota at Twin Cities, to work in the field of molecular virology and focus on host-virus interaction and reverse genetics-based novel vaccine development of emerging zoonotic viruses including avian influenza virus and novel bunyaviruses. The selected candidates are expected to maintain a well-organized lab notebook, make presentations at conferences, and be involved in writing manuscripts and submitting fellowship or grant applications. Candidates should have a PhD, MD, DVM or equivalent with strong expertise in virology and/or immunology, and be proficient in molecular and cell biology techniques. Experience working on reverse genetics, innate or cell-mediated immunity, or cell-virus interaction is a plus. Individuals who are self-motivated with solid virology or immunology background are encouraged to apply. Virol 2014, PMID:24335286). This is a two-year project and renewal is possible pending to candidate’s performance and funding availability.
