Posting Summary
The Program Coordinator II acts as a Provider Management Coordinator and is responsible for directly overseeing the Family Child Care (FCC) and Family Friend and Neighbor (FFN) Program in their local county. S/he will assist qualified applicants to meet all the NJ Division of Family Development requirements in accordance with the Department of Children and Families, Office of Licensing statute, as outlined in the Child Care Workers Union (CCWU) and policy. The incumbent will provide professional development and technical assistance in accordance with the Child Care Development Block Grant to further advance research-based, quality FCC/FFN child care programs.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, education or social services, and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in an early childhood setting
    • Five (5) years of related experience may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree

Certifications/Licenses
  • Must be a member of the NJ Registry Instructor Approval (contingent upon hiring).
  • Must be a licensed driver, in good standing with reliable transportation
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong training and pedagogical skills specific to best practices in family child care settings.
  • Previous experience with FCC specific training.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and execute established plans and policies.
  • The ability to appropriately and clearly give and exchange information directly.
  • Possess knowledge of adult learning principles to effectively construct and implement community-based trainings or technical advisement mentoring opportunities for FCC/FFN staff and providers.
  • Cultural competence demonstrated by meeting mandated site visitation requirements in a variety of family settings and environments.

  • Bilingual – English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
