Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Goals and objectives
  • Manage SBAN website updates
  • Ensure timely, professional communications with stakeholders
  • Support SBAN projects or proposals as needed
  • Ability to design mock-ups and graphics for the website and other social media
  • Develop WordPress websites
  • Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific client needs
  • Create and maintain website functionality using PHP and MySQL
  • Collaborate with project manager and teammates to ensure timely delivery of projects
  • Troubleshoot and debug WordPress issues
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest web technologies and trends
  • Support communication and research team needs, as requested
  • Attend weekly GA, Website, Communications Caucus meetings
  • Assistance in planning and participation in SBAN’s National Conference
  • On-call web support

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:
Experience with PHP and MySQL

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Proven experience as a WordPress developer
  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with WordPress themes and plugins (Avada, Taxonomies, etc.)
  • Knowledge of responsive design principles
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and collaboration skills

Additional Information:

This project will require the student to begin as soon as possible during the Spring 2023 semester at 10 hours/week, with the possibility of extension, including Summer and Fall 2023 employment. Spring and Summer 2023 position will be hourly only. Fall 2023 graduate assistantship, including healthcare and tuition remission benefits, may be offered.
