HRIS Business Analyst

Job Description

The University of Notre Dame has a very ambitious mission – to be a force for good in the world. In order for the more than 5,000 faculty and staff to be able to advance this mission, The Office of Human Resources must support them in a way that enables them to do so. Just as we strive to support the holistic formation of the student intellect, heart, and soul, we strive to do the same for our staff.

Today’s marketplace presents significant challenges for Human Resources, Learning and Development (LOD), and Talent Acquisition (TA) departments across all industries. Attracting, retaining, and upskilling a complex and diverse workforce has become increasingly difficult. To address these challenges, the University of Notre Dame is seeking a talented HRIS Business Analyst for a newly created position. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our suite of LOD/TA applications while extracting valuable data and insights. The goal of this position is to reinforce our workforce development and recruiting strategy, enabling us to succeed in today’s competitive marketplace.

We’re looking for a candidate who is naturally curious, eager to explore and utilize the latest technologies, and excited to be challenged by a dynamic work environment.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Provide comprehensive IT application support for Talent Acquisition, and LOD on a daily basis, including product implementation, system/process improvements and maintenance to meet business needs.
  • Optimize system functionality by customizing or leveraging existing technology to maximize effectiveness and streamline processes.
  • Manage system security configuration and assignment, and support inbound and outbound data processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Conduct system upgrade testing and provide quality assurance to ensure successful implementation of updates and new features.
  • Collaborate with campus stakeholders, interpret business needs, and propose effective solutions that deliver desired outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive data, including applicant and performance data.
  • Create clear and concise documentation for both internal and external customers to facilitate system use and maintenance.

Additional responsibilities of the HR Business Analyst may include:

  • Compile and analyze data for reporting and dashboard design, leveraging applications such as Tableau and Excel to present meaningful insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate directly with his/her manager to prioritize, select, and scope technology-related projects, and independently manage small to medium-sized projects, ensuring timely completion and delivery of results.
  • Participate as a key member of project teams to implement new technology-related initiatives, contribute to project planning, and drive project execution to ensure successful outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in HRIS administration and support, with strong knowledge of Talent Acquisition or Learning and Development Systems
  • Experience with system/process improvement and product implementation, including system upgrades, testing and quality assurance
  • Proficiency in data analysis, dashboard design and reporting, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
