Position Highlights The Ledford Lab is seeking highly motivated candidate for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate I position in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Arizona Asthma and Airways Disease Research Center. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with excellent analytical and communication skills who has an interest in studying translational research investigating obstructive lung disease and dysfunction of innate immunity in asthma and respiratory infections. The incumbent will possess the drive required to work independently, collaboratively, and publish findings.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead a research project in close collaboration with the PI and other lab members.
  • Innovate new areas of experimental inquiry.
  • Advance technical aspects of experimental approaches and mechanistic understanding of biological problems.
  • Mentor junior lab members and contribute to a productive scientific environment.
  • Maintain detailed records and disseminate research findings in meetings and as manuscripts in scientific journals.
  • Apply for independent funding and contribute to grant proposals submitted by the PI.
  • There may be additional duties assigned as it relates to this position.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in molecular medicine, biochemistry, molecular or cellular biology, chemistry, genetics, or physiology upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications * Prior University of Arizona research experience.
