Summary

This is a part-time position (16 hours per week - 40%) limited to the fall term 2023.

Salary is $16,645 for the 40% effort.

Responsibilities*

Teach EECS 398 -Special Topics on Mobile Application Development

CSE is seeking an instructor to teach a 300-level course on mobile application development with primary focus on Android app development. 

The instructor would be expected to give lectures (up to 4 hours per week), hold office hours as needed,  supervise the course staff, and be responsible for grading.  Depending on enrollment, an eligible student GSI or grader will be approved, with selection to be done in consultation with the instructor.

Initial enrollment is planned to be around 50-60.

Required Qualifications*

Strong presentation and communication skills.

Ability to effectively teach introductory courses in computer science and engineering

Experience with design and implementation of mobile app development on Android required. 

A minimum of MS in computer science or related fields.

Desired Qualifications*

Previous teaching of a similar course on mobile app development strongly preferred.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
