Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager is an exempt managerial civilian employee within the Department of Public Safety. The individual holding this position has day-to-day oversight responsibility for the Security Operations Center. The SOC Manager supervises a team of full and part time employees; these subordinates monitor the University’s CCTV system, making appropriate notifications regarding incidents in progress, and conduct video reviews as appropriate. In addition to SOC’s primary CCTV function, the SOC also monitors various alarm systems.
The SOC Manager may be required to work a periodically changing schedule including nights, overnights, and weekends. The individual selected for the SOC Manager position will be expected to respond to periodic requests for assistance during off-duty time.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of experience with Closed Circuit Television monitoring systems including a minimum of three (3) years of management or supervisory experience.
OR
- A Associate’s Degree and five (5) years of experience with Closed Circuit Television monitoring systems including a minimum of three (3) years of management or supervisory experience.
OR
- No Degree and seven (7) years of experience with Closed Circuit Television monitoring systems including a minimum of three (3) years of management or supervisory experience..
Other Required Qualifications:
Must possess and maintain a valid Maryland Non-Commercial Driver’s license or equivalent.
