Job Summary
The Department of Finance in the Gatton College of Business at University of Kentucky invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral research fellowship in household finance. The position would begin in Fall 2023 and has the possibility of renewal after the first year.
The Department of Finance is currently in the process of purchasing over 20 years of raw credit account-level (“tradeline”) data from one of the three major credit bureaus in the United States. The postdoctoral research fellow will have the benefit of immediately working with this data and collaborating with faculty members to produce impactful research in the field of household finance.
Desired qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in finance, economics, or a closely related field.
  • Evidence of potential for publishing in top-tier finance and economics journals.
  • Experience with wrangling and conducting analyses on large datasets using either Python or R. Experience with SQL programming and big-data tools such as Google BigQuery or Hadoop is a plus.
