Description
The incumbent will work closely with Dr. Emily Farrer from Tulane’s Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, to engage in independent and collaborative research exploring aspects plant-microbe interactions as they pertain to plant invasion and global change impacts in California rangelands.
Qualifications
1. PhD in Microbial ecology or related field
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
- Expertise in plant-bacteria and plant-fungal symbioses
- Routine laboratory work, microscopy, and culturing
- Experience molecular work and bioinformatics pipelines used in next generation sequencing
- Experience leading field excursions
- Valid drivers license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Strong research and publication record
2. In-depth topical knowledge in plant-microbial interactions
3. Prior record of obtaining extramural research funding
