Summary of Position

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) engineer is an integral member of the team responsible for assisting in the management of identities, authorization and authentication services for the University System of New Hampshire institutions. In support of the goals and objectives of the IAM team, this position will develop, implement, enhance, integrate, and maintain IAM tools and technologies; and work with project teams to ensure that solutions are compliant with university policies and standards. In addition, support lead IAM engineer will be expected to become a subject matter expert in Sailpoint IIQ and Azure Active Directory. The IAM engineer is expected to learn all legacy systems and look for ways to leverage Sailpoint & Azure AD to modernize the USNH enterprise. The IAM Engineer will need to understand account lifecycles and how they work with all the various systems. The IAM Engineer will provide ongoing support for SailPoint Identity IQ and authorization and authentication services. The IAM Engineer will help develop cloud based authentication and access for USNHs growing cloud environment.

Other minimum qualifications

Working knowledge of Identity and Access Management principles, controls and auditory requirements or willingness to learn
Working knowledge of identity and account provisioning platforms (ideally, SailPoint Identity IQ) and federation/authentication technologies such as SecureAuth identity provider or willingness to learn.
Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, and Office 365 (messaging)
Experience with standard authentication protocols and frameworks such as SAML, OAuth 2.0 and OIDC or willingness to learn
Proficient in scripting such as Powershell or Java or willingness to learn.
Comfortable with handling both technical and coordination aspects of projects
Business case definition and management
Familiar with Privilege account management software or willingness to learn.
Familiarity with Cloud authentication and access design and development.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Must have a current driver’s license, a willingness to use a personal vehicle for travel, and a willingness to travel as needed to operating locations across New Hampshire unless the position is remote.

Duty/Responsibility

Assist in representing the IAM team when collaborating with internal service line leaders and customers to securely design, implement and configure Identity and Access Management solutions.
Design and configure roles and affiliations to work with Active Directory concepts, including users, security groups, policies.

Assist in the design and configuration of SSO integrations and multi-factor services using Azure AD identity provider. Work with IAM Developer for seamless app integration and application authentications. Work with application technical leads to ensure desired end state. Help to ensure IAM security is incorporated in processes, procedures and all applications. Build the USNH authentication into cloud environments as USNH grows into the cloud.

Backup administrator for IAM key applications to configure and maintain and support
