Organizational Unit Overview | The Department of Physiology houses internationally recognized investigators whose research programs in basic and applied biomedical sciences emphasize the study of cellular and molecular basis of tissue function. Research strengths of the department include bioenergetics, cardiovascular pathophysiology, peripheral vascular function, sensorimotor neurobiology, cancer, skeletal muscle biology and urological function. Applications are invited for an expanded search for multiple tenure track or fixed term faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the Department of Physiology, Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University. Preference will be given to applicants whose research expertise is in one of the following areas: cardiovascular, neuroscience, or metabolism. Job Duties | These positions are heavily research focused, and selected faculty will have significant protected time initially to establish their research programs. The successful candidates are expected to train doctoral students and progressively contribute to teaching in physiology curricula in medical, dental, and/or allied health areas. Minimum Education/Experience | Ph.D. or equivalent in Physiology or closely related discipline. or M.D. For advanced rank appointment, must have current, transferable, R01 level funding Demonstrated strong publication record Postdoctoral research experience Demonstrated potential to establish a rigorous, extramurally funded research program. |

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education | Research expertise in the areas of cardiovascular science, neuroscience, or metabolism are preferred. |
