Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management (TATM):
NC State’s Wilson College of Textiles, and the Department of Textile and Apparel Technology and Management, prepares future leaders for the textile, apparel, home, furniture, fashion and retail industries.

Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, our undergraduate and graduate programs incorporate global marketplace dynamics with a strategic management focus. Our graduates incorporate art/design and science/technology with management concepts in creative problem-solving. Our program is equipped with access and experiences utilizing the latest industry technologies. The majority of the students have an enriching and intensive study abroad experience. Our program faculty works closely with industry partners, including the department’s Industry Advisory Board, to develop academic and experiential real- world learning experiences. Student internships combined with a global alumni network provide an exceptional value-added experience, with our students prepared to make an immediate impact in diverse companies throughout the global supply chain.

Essential Job Duties

The Department of Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management is searching for Teaching Assistant Professors in Fashion and Textile, Design and Product Development.

Responsibilities include teaching, advising, and promoting student learning in the design and development of fashion and textile products, as well as participation in recruitment and other activities of the Department, the Wilson College of Textiles and the University.

The successful candidates will be proficient in the use of design technologies and textile materials to creatively develop prototypical products that meet the needs of consumers and customers worldwide. Preferred areas of expertise include Fashion Design, Fashion Development, and/or Textile Design.

Must be able to communicate and work effectively with faculty, students, laboratory and studio equipment, and staff.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • MFA or Ph.D. degree in the discipline from a recognized university.
