Inventory Control Planner - Ambulatory Care Multi SItes

Job Description

Summary

Purpose of Position

Provide supply chain support and coverage for all ASCs and MPUs. Reconcile supply usage and charting variances to ensure accurate inventory levels and patient billing. Provide limited technical support to supply chain systems.

Organization Relationships

Reports to the Inventory Control Supervisor with heavy interaction with OR Nursing Leaders, Lead CRNA, Charge Nurses, and other clinical staff

Responsibilities*

  • Cycle Count service specific supplies and implants
  • Resolve inventory variances
  • Open packages and capture lot, serial and expiration dates as needed
  • Order and replenish LUM supplies
  • Order and replenish direct to vendor supplies
  • Ensuring all supplies/implants have been accurately recorded to the surgical/procedural case in Syft
  • Complete and close surgical/procedural cases in Syft that were left open from the previous day
  • Cancel and remove any surgical/procedural cases in Syft that were not performed the previous day
  • Interface with billers/rev cycle/supply chain as needed to resolve patient billing issues i.g missing charge codes/incorrect pricing
  • Troubleshoot system and submit tickets as needed
  • Other duties assigned as needed

Required Qualifications*

  • High School Diploma and at least 2 years’ experience in position in the healthcare industry
  • Experience viewing data contained in Electronic Health Record systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize requests and work independently
  • Strong proficiency in communication through multiple mediums
  • Strong attention to details

Hours are 7:00am - 3:30pm

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
