Position Summary

Postdoctoral Research Associate position in computational biology and imaging available at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology in the Department of Radiology, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

The successful candidate will be a member of a highly interdisciplinary team including oncologists, biologists, engineers, and imaging scientists. The successful candidate will develop computational models of human disease (primary cancer) at the interface with quantitative medical imaging (preclinical and clinical). The ideal candidate should have a doctoral degree in applied mathematics, physics, computer science, biomedical engineering, mathematical biology, computational systems biology, or related fields. Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following fields is required: mathematical or computational biology, mathematical/statistical modeling, optimization, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) modeling, pharmacology, or related fields ideally in the context of a biological research project at genomic/metabolic, cellular, organ, or systems levels.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills (oral and written), be detail oriented, creative, and able to synthesize biological information/insights in terms of computational/mathematical concepts. Evidence of research activity resulting in publications and presentations is highly desirable.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree.  

Working Conditions

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.
